I've spent the majority of my life in North East Ohio, calling Medina County my home stomping grounds.

The longest stretch of my adult working career, 26 years, was spent at a paperboard mill in northern Wayne County where I managed the Purchasing and Stores departments.

After the facility closed in 2006, I started my jewelry business, Bonya's.  My web site is www.bonyas.com

Since October of 2006, I've participated in over 45 arts and crafts shows.  Some of the most notable shows I’ve attended are:  Yankee Peddler Today, Art in the Village at Legacy Village, Ohio Mart at Stan Hywet, Akron Art Expo, Cain Park in Cleveland Heights, Christmas Arts & Crafts at E. J. Thomas, and Art by the Falls at Chagrin Falls.

Outside of a beginning soldering class, I have no formal training & am basically self-taught.

I hand craft all of my jump rings, findings, chain, and filigree from .925 Argentium Sterling Silver wire.  Argentium Sterling Silver is tarnish resistant, nickel free and scratch resistant; the perfect 21st century white metal!  More information about Argentium Sterling Silver can be found at:  www.argentiumsilver.com or www.gsgold.com.

My main inspirations are patterns - the natural patterns found in nature, and man's ancient ornamental designs.  I love looking at jewelry finds from archeological digs; the skill of the artisans that created this jewelry - considering the technology of the time - is nothing short of awe inspiring.

My workroom, formerly a bedroom, is THE place I spend my time.  I share it not only with my husband of over 20 years, but my 6 cats and 3 dogs.  Several of the cats have seized the position of design consultant, monitoring my efforts.  However, 2 of the dogs have decided to form a security detail and spend a good portion of the day defending the back yard from the dreaded squirrel terrorists of the neighborhood.

Currently I am teaching beginning Chain Maille & beginning wire work classes at Lake Erie Artist Gallery at Shaker Square in Cleveland, Beadtini Boutique at Sawmill Run in Copley and Edy Beady's in Canton.  Schedules can be found at my web site:  www.bonyas.com.  I also offer private, one-on-one, or group lessons.

My work can be found at the Canal Fulton Glassworks and Artist Gallery.
